An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, creative and energetic Lecturer to join our Art & Design team. We are looking for an inspiring practitioner who is passionate about nurturing the next generation of creative talent. The successful candidate will have a broad knowledge of Art & Design and the enthusiasm, adaptability and skills to teach across BTEC Art & Design programmes from Level 1 to Level 3.

You will be a confident communicator who can engage and motivate learners from a wide range of backgrounds, supporting them to achieve their potential both creatively and academically. Experience of teaching or training within a classroom, workshop or industry setting would be advantageous, alongside the ability to provide effective pastoral and tutorial support to student groups.

We would particularly welcome applications from candidates with experience or specialist knowledge in textiles, fashion, surface pattern, or related creative disciplines. However, this is not essential, and we encourage applications from practitioners with a broad range of Art & Design backgrounds.

As part of the role, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of attendance, engagement, retention and achievement, helping to create an inclusive and ambitious learning environment. The role may occasionally require evening or weekend delivery to support curriculum activities and events. Strong organisational, administrative and interpersonal skills are essential, together with a commitment to delivering an excellent student experience.

The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree or equivalent qualification in an Art & Design-related subject, together with English and Mathematics qualifications at Level 2 or above. A teaching qualification would be desirable but is not essential. This position would be an excellent opportunity for an industry professional looking to share their expertise and develop a rewarding career in further education, with support available to gain a teaching qualification where required.

Applications should be made with a CV and a supporting personal statement of no more than 300 words clearly demonstrating how you meet the person specification.

Shortlisting for this role may take place as applications are received. We therefore reserve the right to close this vacancy once a suitable candidate has been appointed.

Closing Date: Friday 20th November
